March 6, 2018 Electrophysiologist-Hearts just "a-flutter!"

March 6, 2018 After much worry and concern over my “heart event” I went in to see Dr. Jason Andrade, my Electrophysiologist Cardiologist. We went over the usual details to do with what had happened. Since the EMTs and Ambulance people never got a reading of my actual heart rate we will never know what area of my heart it was coming from. We do know that it was not my usual presentation. Jason continues to say the same thing: That although there are catastrophic potentialities associated with my RVOT arrhythmia…he says my heart is otherwise so healthy that he isn’t concerned.  He even went so far as to characterize the RVOT as a nuisance arrhythmia. He did say that when they happen I definitely need to take it seriously but he pointed out that when they do happen I tolerate them well. He offered me a Rx to take at the time of an arrhythmic event that may help slow my heart rate. He also said if it happens on a flight-mid Atlantic or not, that they have the tools to deal with

Oct 15 2017- Beginnings-What is the "Out On a Limb Project" ?

What the "Out On a Limb Project" is all about:                     Below is the original  post in the Fund Raiser that explains what the project is all about. I'm not currently asking for funds as we reached our goal! and then some! Yaay!!! Imagine being born without four fingers on your left hand. And now imagine fate's cruel joke of making you left handed. At the same time, gifting you with artistic sensibilities both in painting and playing music. That is what happened to me.  While most physical activities are well within my grasp (no pun intended) there are huge emotional and psychological obstacles that affect me deeply and have done so just as far back as I can remember.  My emotional pain and despair over my physical defect remained throughout my childhood, weaving its way through my adult life, remaining to this day. Even though I have mostly reached a place of acceptance, I feel very much like a one-eyed person without the benefit of an eye patc

Feb 15, 2018 #NOTES From the Road on Living a Bright Line Life

Feb 15, 2018 #NOTES From the Road on Living a Bright Line Life: Hi everyone!  I was hoping this might be an update from London as Chris and I were scheduled to fly out this last Thursday Feb 15, to see Sophie at the Alternative Limb Project in London re; continuing along with the "Out On A Limb" Project. As I was getting ready to board in Vancouver I popped into the washroom at the airport.. I was excited and so looking forward to meeting Chris in Toronto and then carrying on to Gatwick and our 2nd London adventure.  I noticed a little flutter in my chest which I noted and ignored. 30 or so seconds later it was obvious what was happening. I was having an Arrythmia. There was nowhere to sit in the airport washroom so I stood still and waited. Usually these things resolve in 2-3 minutes 10 minutes tops. I texted my beloved Marlowe and told him what was happening. He freaked out. My heart rhythm was pretty high and time was inching on...5 minutes, 10 mi

Oct 30, 2017 The BIG Day!!! Yaay!

Oct 30, 2017 Chris and I woke up the next morning, bright and early to   find our way to the Alternative Limb Project Studios. I was really none the worse for wear from my broken nose ordeal. I was uncomfortable and perhaps a little shooken up still from the fall but otherwise good! My glasses are covering up the bruising that was silently creeping over my eye socket and nose so that was good as far as I was concerned! We took the underground, then a train and after about an hour or so of travel, arrived at Sophies studios around about 1/2 an hour before we had scheduled our arrival.   The studios were as I had expected…unassuming but highly functional..like a true artists studio! Meeting Sophie was exactly as I pictured it would be. She was as grounded and sweet and professional and creative as I had expected. Jason the fellow who is doing the 3-d printing part was there as well…as was Riina who is working on the “leather-crafting”

Oct 29,2017 Late arrival and a little incident!

Image
Oct 29, 2017 We arrived about 1/2 late for our luncheon. Chris and I were so grateful for the understanding of everyone. It was so wonderful to  meet everyone: Gillian McRobie, Lynette Gee, Claire Smith, Cathy Fernie, Gill Sidebottom, Jenny Boughton, Wanda Robins, Emine Wearie and Beatrice Marcu. We had such a great time forging new connections and solidifying old ones (from the Family Reunion in San Diego the year before!) And a huge shout out to Beatrice for organizing everyone, and for  finding our lunch venue and making reservations. <3 It could not have been more perfect and Chris and I are completely and unabashedly in love with you all!!! Yaay!!! We were staying in Soho so it was a lovely walk back to our digs. We picked up some groceries at a Whole Foods Restaurant and had a much needed solid nights sleep. The next day we scheduled for site-seeing before our big day with Sophie at the Alternative Limb Project We took a tour on a double deck

Oct 28, 2017 Touch Down!!!

Oct 28th, 2017 Touch Down… We arrived at Gatwick as per our itinerary, on time at 9:15 am Saturday morning. Chris had slept some, on our overnight flight from North America. I had not. We were up and mobile, off the airplane and into the main terminal.  Such excitement! Since both Chris and I are Bright Line Eaters we had each planned ahead and packed enough breakfasts to carry us through the duration of our trip.  We looking for a place where we could sit down, get coffee and hot water to animate our rolled oats, along with our other breakfast accoutrements; nuts, seeds, and fruit! We also wanted to plan our next steps for transportation, to take a moment and catch our breathe before we descended upon the great City of London. We found a small airport cafe, ordered our coffees and two large cups of hot water. Without thinking, both Chris and I dumped the contents of our baggies of oatmeal and mixed nuts and seeds into the once boiling water only to realize we we
