#NOTES From the Road on Living a Bright Line Life:

Hi everyone!

I was hoping this might be an update from London as Chris and I were scheduled to fly out this last Thursday Feb 15, to see Sophie at the Alternative Limb Project in London re; continuing along with the "Out On A Limb" Project.

As I was getting ready to board in Vancouver I popped into the washroom at the airport.. I was excited and so looking forward to meeting Chris in Toronto and then carrying on to Gatwick and our 2nd London adventure.

I noticed a little flutter in my chest which I noted and ignored. 30 or so seconds later it was obvious what was happening. I was having an Arrythmia.

There was nowhere to sit in the airport washroom so I stood still and waited. Usually these things resolve in 2-3 minutes 10 minutes tops. I texted my beloved Marlowe and told him what was happening. He freaked out. My heart rhythm was pretty high and time was inching on...5 minutes, 10 minutes…tick tock tick tock. I texted Chris, hoping she had not left yet for our rendesvous point in Toronto. My flight was leaving at 11am Pacific.  Boarding was in process. I was still having an Arrhythmia!!!

At 10:45 a.m. I 'called it" and  asked the lavratory attendant if there was a first aid station, attendant or nurse  around as I was having a heart issue that was needing some supportive medical intervention.

Airport EMTs showed up finally with BC Ambulance Service about 5 minutes behind them. Off we went to the Hospital. My Arrhythmia stopped midway to the Hospital.

The plane went without me.

BUMMER!!!

I was kept in the Hospital overnight for observation. The ER physician, Dr Claber ordered numerous tests and was very thorough. I was a little dehydrated. They topped me up with fluid. I was released in the morning. I went and picked up an event monitor which I can use over the next 3-4 weeks to record any other arrhythmias that may occur.

I figured out today that the Arrhythmia lasted 55 minutes.  That’s quite a while for a Ventricular Tachycardia ryhthm. Not at all typical for me. I’m not certain we will every have an answer for it but I'll see my Elctrophysiologist/Cardiologist on Mar 6th. They did tell me that my heart was definately stressed from the length and intensity of the heart rhythm (they can tell that from markers/enzymes that they measure in your blood...but all has resolved and I am well now. All enzyme markers, blood and mineral levels, including fluid are normal. They deferred about permission for me to fly right now due to the more complex nature of my Arrhythmia (RVOT) and presenting symptoms.

Fair enough! Definitely wanting to stay healthy and well. :-)

So, I'm back in Vancouver. Feeling fine. So grateful to all who were there when this started coming down; Chris, Marlowe, the EMTs and ambulance attendants, the ER Drs, our Program Delivery Team most specifically Chris, Lynn, Marianne, Tara, and Tracy. Susan of course. Our House Leader Leader Circle; Sue, Christa and Lynda! Thank you for your loving care and tender thoughts. Our elegant and lovingly wise group of Rockstar House Leaders for gathering the wagons around and sending healing energy and love. Thank you so very much for your understanding and loving care. A huge and special shout out to all of our beloved Bright Line Eaters in the UK who we were planning on meeting Feb 16 at 7p.m. in Soho. Your grace and understanding in this has meant so very much to me. Thank you Beatrice for firstly organizing the dinner along with notifying everyone that we were not going to be able to make it. I am so happy you were able to proceed in spite of this most unusual circumstance. Chris and I will be coming again...most likely in March!

If I could have willed it to be different I certainly would have! It was hard knowing the plane was leaving and having to stay behind

The Airline was great. We had our flights refunded and they have been placed in a "trip bank" which is accessable for a year. When the dust settled with Airbnb we were only out about $300.00. When I calculated funds for the fund raiser I added in a contingency for things such as this,  (thank you Lynn for your very wise counsel on that point) so we are still good. And wouldn’t you know it... my suitcase got roundtrip travel to Gatwick and back!
Lucky suitcase! It landing on my door yesterday just past 6 p.m. The baggage people were such Rockstars I can't even say!!!

I’m taking today and tomorrow to rest and unplug.
Fundamentally, all is well and there will be more to come; in glorious celebration and gratitude,
….so very much more to come...
Feeling so very  blessed and grateful!
